No Sleep and Topshelf Records to Release Joint Compilation

After a few weeks of weird inter-label foreplay, Massachusetts based Topshelf Records and California's No Sleep records have announced a joint compilation titled Topshelf vs. No Sleep: 2,995 Miles Between Us. The comp will feature 20 rare or unreleased tracks from artists on the labels' rosters, and will only further speculation that No Sleep and Topshelf are in fact exact same thing.

Seriously though, these two labels feature some of my favourite new bands, and I for one am extremely stoked. The compilation will drop on May 22nd, 2012, and will be available exclusively through Hot Topic and what.cd.

For The Fallen Dreams Debut New Track

For The Fallen Dreams have debuted a new single from their forthcoming release Wasted Youth titled "Hollow". You can pick up Wasted Youth on July 17th, 2012 via Artery Recordings.
The first minute of this song goes HARD and I was thinking that things were looking up for this record. Then the predictable singing chorus chimes in and shit goes downhill fast. Old fans and Chad Ruhlig are cringing. Get rid of the fucking singing, stop producing with Tom Denny, and maybe this band has a chance to be as good as they once were. They need Andrew back too... but that will probably never happen because he's quite content with The Ghost Inside.

Chelsea Grin debut "Lilith"

Chelsea Grin have debuted a track titled "Lilith" from there upcoming EP Evolve which drops June 19th, via Artery Recordings. It's rather... interesting. The lyrics are pretty terrible and now apparently front-man Alex Koehler fancies himself a singer. The vocal style is pretty odd in some parts but I suppose it makes it a little bit unique. The addition of Jason Richardson (ex-Born of Osiris) also adds a greater element of "shred". At least check it out for yourself and decide whether you hate it or love it.

New Video Alert: Architects - "Alpha Omega"

Architects (UK) have unveiled there new video for "Alpha Omega" from their forthcoming album Daybreakers due out in June via Distort/Century Media Records. This is one my most anticipated albums of the year and the two single thus far have not disappointed in any way. It truly has a Hollow Crown vibe to it. 9/10.
