New Video Alert: Oh, Sleeper - "Endseekers"

New video for "Endseekers" from Oh, Sleeper.
From their latest album Children Of Fire available now via Solid State Records.
They've never made an album that's blown me away but I have been sucked into all three of their albums for at least a short period of time. I thought that this album sounded exactly like their previous one Son of the Morning and think it's time the band takes a new direction or sound with their music. 6.5/10

Veil Of Maya Release Album Teaser

Here is the brand new teaser for Veil of Maya's upcoming album Eclipse. I was actually in tears by the 40 second mark. It's just going to be too good. The production sounds amazing too and that was my one beef with  iD, their previous release. You can hear all the songs from Eclipse when the album drops on February 28th via Sumerian Records. I'm sure between now and then we'll get some more tunes from the album.

New Video Alert: Attack Attack! - "The Wretched"

New video for the song "The Wretched" from Attack Attack.
It's from their forthcoming album This Means War due out January 17th via Rise Records.
I don't know if I like this yet, but if I were to choose an Attack Attack! album to listen to, I would probably choose this more "mature" sounding stuff over the old techno-crab-core shit from a few years back. I like the vocals better than their previous album too. I like the song alright but not the video so much. I don't really get it and what's with him giving himself hugs the whole time? I'm guessing it's a reference to This Means War and all the shit talking other bands (Stray From The Path) did on Attack Attack! So they're showing up to fight and then the he has a bag of hammers and is like "Let's build something together" and they're like "Okay." Hmm... lame. 7/10

New Song: I, The Breather - "Bruised & Broken"

New song from metalcore act I, The Breather titled "Bruised & Broken" via Sumerian Records.
I really liked their last release These Are My Sins. This is definitely a release to look forward to.

New Video Alert: Woe, Is Me - "Vengeance"

New video for the single "Vengeance" (2011) from Woe, Is Me via Rise Records.
There's a dude who sings and looks like Tyler Carter that  isn't Tyler Carter and they do lots of cool stage moves... 7/10 because I like the editing.

Update: Mark Castillo Joins Emmure on Drums

Mark Castillo formerly of Bury Your Dead, Between the Buried & Me, Crossfade, and The Acacia Strain is rumoured to have joined Emmure. Castillo left Bury Your Dead last year after the completion of their lastest album Mosh 'n' Roll. He went on to join hard-rock group Crossfade (many accused him of "selling-out"). Now it seems though he has moved onto to deathcore giants Emmure who are currently recording their 5th full-length. Emmure very publicly split with their former drummer Mike Kaabe earlier this year and no fill-in or replacement was every announced. This is still unconfirmed and also unclear whether or not Castillo would be touring with the band afterwards or just doing some session studio work. This would be a good move on Emmure's part, Castillo is regarded as one of the best drummers in the genre. Stay tuned for more updates.

Update: From guitarist Jesse Ketive:
"Mark Castillo has been a good friend for a few years now. Mark approached us as he heard through the grapevine that EMMURE needed a helping hand, so at that point I chatted with him about possibly recording our new CD and playing some shows. After jamming the set a few times we all decided that Mark was the perfect fit for us and undoubtedly should be our new drummer. He is the upmost professional and his work on the new effort in going to really help us bring everything to another level. Everyone better watch out."
Well this is very interesting. For the first time since The Respect Issue, I'm excited to hear the new Emmure!

New Video Alert: Cannabis Corpse - "Where The Kind Lives"

Cannabis Corpse have released a brand new video for "Where The Kind Lives".
This is from 2011's Beneath The Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise via Tankcrimes Records.
Love this video. Everything you'd expect in a music video from these guys. 8.5/10.

Veil Of Maya & Impending Doom Complete New Albums

2012 is going to be an awesome year in metal. I just know it. Two of our faves over here have just announced that they have completed new albums:
  • Impending Doom will released Baptized In Filth on March 13th via eOne Music.
    • This will be their first "major label" debut. eOne is also the label that dropped The Human Abstract after one album.
    • The record was produced by Andreas Magnusson (Despised Icon/Oh,Sleeper) & Machine (Protest the Hero/Lamb of God).
    •  Guitarist - Cory Johnson:
"We're proud to say that after many months of working on the new record it's finally done. This is by far our favorite material to date and we can't wait to share it with everyone and hit the road!! March 13th 2012 the world will be Baptized In Filth!

  • Veil of Maya will release Eclipse on February 28th via Sumerian Records
    • This is their 3rd LP release for Sumerian.
