New song from metalcore legends Every Time I Die titled "Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space."
This is from their upcoming release Ex Lives due out March 6th, 2012 via Epitaph Records.
It's like old ETID with a twist. Sounds like they've finally decided to progress with their sound since Gutter Phenomenon. I can't wait for this album and I seriously didn't give a shit about their last one really. 9.5/10.
Rise Records have recently signed Australian melodic rock band Hands Like Houses and are going to release their international debut Ground Dweller in 2012. You can check out a new song from the band titled "Lion Skin" ft. Tyler Carter (ex-Woe, Is Me) and the infamous Jonny Craig (ex-drug addict...).
With all this speculation since yesterday's announcement regarding Howard Jones leaving Killswitch Engage, many fans have speculated or are just purely hoping that Jesse Leach the former front-man of KSE would be returning. It's an interesting thought, we saw it happen with Mat Bruso and Bury Your Dead a year ago, so who knows. Leach did record an album with KSE engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz last year. Anyways, I found this old video from the Roadrunner 25th Anniversary show which features Jones and Leach performing "My Last Serenade" together for the first and only time ever. Check it out.
For over a month now there has been a lot of speculation on whether or not Oceano was done as band or not. The announcement yesterday of Howard Jones leaving Killswitch was shortly followed by Adam Warren of Oceano announcing his departure as front-man.
"I'm shocked, but well... If Killswitch can go on after 9 years and 3 albums without Mr. Jones on vox.... Why couldn't a certain band with out me? (2 albums and a mere 3 years) Just sayin. I got a son that's growing quick to provide for and I don't wanna miss a second of it. I keep it real. I'm workin on some projects here at home, they'll pop up when I get time away from father duties to dig deeper."It was only uncertain for about 24 hours on what the rest of the band was up to.
"Just to clear everything up, Oceano is NOT looking for a new singer. New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will be one of the last Oceano shows ever, and yes, Adam will be there. Thanks for all of your support."Oceano is one of our favourite over here. In a lot of ways Adam Warren was "Oceano" and the only original member, so it's not surprising they are calling it quits. NEMF is definitely going to be quite the show this year.
Randy Blythe posted a video today through his twitter account of him practicing with Cannabis Corpse for their upcoming show this January. Cannabis Corpse lost their singer and one guitarist in December and Blythe stepped up to the plate as a temporary fill-in. He can definitely pull off the growls although the quality is pretty low. We'll just blame that on the mic with an on-switch. He should pick this up as a full-time side project (oxymoron).

New video for "Forget About Me" from British hardcore band, Your Demise.
From The Golden Age available in late-March 2012 via Rise Records.
This is the first look we've had at new Your Demise since their previous release The Kids We Used To Be from 2010. Sounds a lot like the tunes from that album with respect to the singing but the screaming has more diversity. It's a powerhouse of punk riffs and beats too. 8/10.
British post-hardcore act Lower Than Atlantis have debuted a brand new song from their forthcoming 2012 release. It's in the sound we've come to know from LTA but with some are saying more of a "mainstream" feel to it. I can see where the critics are coming from but I still like this tune and find it very catchy.
Sadly, after about 7 years together as a band, The Human Abstract have decided to call it quits or go on hiatus or something. Although there has been no official statement by the band, Under The Gun uncovered a personal Facebook post from bassist Henry Selva:
Folks, we are not looking for a new vocalist. We are not touring anytime soon. I think it's only fair you guys know that we're on 'break or hiatus if you will.' I don't know why we haven't said anything. I guess it's because there is always that 'maybe if something happens, etc..etc…' Or maybe it's hard for us to realize the reality of our situation, the band's situation, to finally let go. I'll be honest when I say the folllowing: Periphery and Never Say Die were our last tours together as a band.Sadly this band seemed like they could never get the right foot forward through years of struggle within the band. This will disappointment many as the band has worked up quite the following over the years.
