Converge and Napalm Death to release split EP

Converge and Napalm Death, two of this scene's most influential bands, have announced they will release a split EP in the near future. The EP will be self-released, with the distribution of physical copies handled by Converge frontman Jacob Bannon's label, Deathwish Inc. Why it isn't just a Deathwish release is beyond me, but as long as it's good (it will be) who cares, right?

For their part, Converge are contributing two tracks from their recent recording sessions; a recorded version of live staple "No Light Escapes" and a "'We Are the World' styled" (Deathwish's words, not mine) version of Entombed's "Wolverine Blues." The latter will feature a litany of guest appearances from the likes of Tomas Lindberg (Disfear) and Brian Izzi (Trap Them), among others.

Napalm Death are contributing two new tracks; a classic grind jam titled "Will by Mouth" and a slower, more textured track in "No Impediment to Truth (Bhopal)."

There's no official word on when this will be released, but this should serve as a nice little appetizer for Converge's new full-length, due out on Epitaph/Deathwish later this year. You can peep a live version of the new Converge song below.
