Emmure have recently released some new photos from the set of their upcoming music video for the first single from Slave To The Game. Currently it is unknown what song it will be for. Emmure so far has only let fans know the release date (April 10th) that it will once again be released through Victory Records and that Mark Castillo (ex-Bury Your Dead/Crossfade) is their new drummer. Just like with any new Emmure record (this is their 5th) I am always interested to give it a spin. Usually I hate 90% of their albums, especially since 2006's Goodbye To The Gallows, but it'll give me a chuckle. Emmure and I have a serious love/hate relationship that I hope continues it's abusive ways for years to come. Frankie Palmeri (vocals) lately has been whoring his love for the Street Fighter franchise more than usual and it seems that it's going to be the overlying theme if not concept behind Slave To The Game. Hardcore fans may have noticed that the tune "Demons With Ryu" from their previous release Speaker of the Dead also focused heavily on this same concept and even featured a sound-byte from the game, "Fight", towards the end. I guess this shouldn't be surprising as Emmure has always thrived off repeating themselves and mimicking others. But this is getting a little silly. Palmeri elaborates in a recent interview with AP about how his life is inspired by Ryu and his morals and values. You know, because Palmeri is a trained martial artist that puts his body and mind before anything else... cough hack cough. Actually, I think he's full of more bullshit than ever before. Ever heard this guy talk about how he believes Jesus Lizard is real? This video also looks eerily like the new A Day To Remember video for "2nd Sucks" that we posted earlier this week. All I'm trying to say is don't buy into this. It's all marketing. Take Emmure with a grain of salt and just enjoy that 30 minutes before you get sick of this record too.
